Thursday 18 April 2024: evening Conert.,
In occasion of the 9th week "Organ Festival in Lebanon" and in the frame of "Tripoli Cultural Capital of the Arab countries" activities, Saint Francis convent organized a Music Concert. The artists were two from Italy (Fabio Catania & Paolo De Matheis -viola and pipe organ-) and one from Lebanon -Mario Rahi , violinist- .
Between the guests were present the Minister of Culture H.E.Mohamad Wissam Mourtada, the Melkite Bishop H. E. Edward Daher, father Khalil Rahmeh and Brother Riccardo Ceriani with another two Franciscans. In the end of the Concert Father Quirico Calella ofm, Superior of the Convent gave a small gift to the Minister that concluded the ceremony with a short speech .
After all the presents took part to a Buffet.
Un simpatico CONCERTO con due artisti italini ed un
Libanese rispettivamente Fabio Catania e Paolo De Matheis -organo e viola- con Mario Ra,i -violino- ha abvuto luogo nella Chiesa di S.Francesco in occasione del nono Festival dell'organo in Libano.
Questo evento s'inquadra perfettamente nelle attivita' di "Tripoli capitale culturale dei Paesi arabi per il 2024.
Era presente fra gli altri il Ministro della cultura S.E Wisam Muhammad Murtada che nel suo breve discorso finale ha avuto parole di apprezzamento per il lavoro che svolgono i Francescani nel Libano.

L'incontro con i frati OFM e con le Suore francescane del Libano e' avvenuto a Harissa al Convento di S.Antonio.

The kids participated in the art class and exposed their paints and works during the year in Saint Francis Convent. F. Quirico Calella Superior of St Francis Convent with Dr. Theresa Francis awarded the certificates in the presence of their parents and relatives.
Alla fine dell'anno scolastico sono stati distribuiti i certificati ai bambini che hanno frequentato il corso di arte presso il Centro Culturale al Convento S.Francesco di Tripoli Marina sotto la guida dell'artista Dott.ssa Teresa Francis Docente di arte all'Universita' Libanese.

Presentazione del libro “Il Presepe nell'arte”
L'ottavo centenario dall’istituzione del primo Presepe vivente da parte di San Francesco d'Assisi a Greccio, in Italia nel 1223, ha incoraggiato le famiglie francescane di tutto il mondo a svolgere molteplici attività.
Anche, a Tripoli - Al-Mina in Libano, dove si trova il Convento di San Francesco, abbiamo potuto lavorare fra l’altro alla traduzione e pubblicazione del libro “Il Presepe nell’arte”,viaggio nell’iconografia della nativita’, della scrittrice italiana Rosa Georgi, tradotto in arabo dalla Dott.ssa Therese Francis . Per alcuni, non addetti ai lavori, il soggetto potrebbe sembrare fuori tempo visto il periodo pasquale in cui ci troviamo. Ma il mistero Pasquale anche liturgicamente parlando comincia nel periodo natalizio per concludersi in questi giorni.
Il libro tratta interpretazioni artistiche e analisi delle icone e dei dipinti di artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo, condotte dall'autrice Rosa Georgi.
Questo libro, “Il Presepe nell'Arte”, e’ stato presentato giovedì 4 aprile 2024, al Centro culturale francescano per il dialogo presso il Convento di San Francesco d'Assisi alle cinque del pomeriggio. Tra gli invitati erano presenti fra gli altri il Vescovo Joseph Naffah, Vicario del Patriarca Maronita per il nord Libano, l’Ambasciatrice d’Italia S.E.Nicoletta Bombardiere ed il Sindaco di Tripoli (italo-libanese) Dott.Riad Yamak. L’Autrice non era presente ma e’ intervenuta online con traduzione simultanea.
Alla fine l’Ambasciatrice ha ricevuto la medaglia ecumenica per il dialogo inviata dal P.Francesco Patton Custode di Terra Santa e consegnata dal suo Delegato in Libano P.Najib Ibrahim. Quindi tutti hanno partecipato all’Iftar preparato sotto l’atrio del Convento dallo Chef George Dibes.

Presentation of the book “Il Presepe Nell'arte”
The eighth centenary of the establishment of the first living nativity scene by St. Francis of Assisi in Greccio, Italy in 1223, has encouraged Franciscan families around the world to engage in multiple activities.
Also, in Tripoli - Al-Mina in Lebanon, where Saint Francis Convent is located, we were able to work, among other things, on the translation and publication of the book "Il Presepe nell'arte", a journey into the iconography of the nativity, of Italian writer Rosa Georgi, translated into Arabic by Dr. Therese Francis. For some, non-experts, the subject might seem out of time given the Easter period in which we find ourselves. But the Paschal mystery, even liturgically speaking, begins in the Christmas period and ends in these days.
The book covers artistic interpretations and analyzes of icons and paintings by artists from around the world, conducted by author Rosa Georgi.
The book, "Il Presepe nell'arte", was presented on Thursday 4 April 2024, at Saint Francis of Assisi Convent Tripoli - mina at 5:00 PM. Among the guests present were, Bishop Joseph Naffah, Vicar of the Maronite Patriarch for northern Lebanon, the Ambassador of Italy H.E. Nicoletta Bombardiere and the Mayor of Tripoli (Italian-Lebanese) Dr. Riad Yamak. The author was not present but spoke online with simultaneous translation.
At the end, the Ambassador received the ecumenical medal for dialogue sent by Father Francesco Patton, Custos of the Holy Land and delivered by his Delegate in Lebanon, Father Najib Ibrahim. Then everyone participated in the Iftar prepared under the atrium of the Convent by Chef George Dibes.

Modesta cerimonia per lo sviluppo dell'ambulatorio medico presso il Convento S.Francesco a Tripoli. L'evento e' stato possibile grazie ad un contributo della MIBIL (Missione Militare Bilaterale Italiana in Libano) assieme al CIMIC (Civil Military co-operation).
